Laura Frew has been hopping back and forth to Italy since she was fifteen. She grew up in the Sierra Nevada foothills, acting, singing and pretending she was a Native American. She graduated valedictorian from high school in 2001 and attended UC Berkeley, where she spent a year studying abroad in Siena and Bologna, Italy. She graduated with honors in Interdisciplinary Studies: International Relations and a minor in Italian in 2005.
She took Piccolina’s first group of high school kids on a fabulous trip through Tuscany in July 2006. She spent the following six months traveling Italy’s south, singing Italian folk songs, and teaching English in Bologna.
